Well, I've noticed a lot of people doing this lately, so here's details of what products I use etc.
Hair;As my style is meant to be big and "poofy", it takes a lot of time and effort to keep it looking like that, but it's worth it.
#1. I start with
TRESemmé Heat Defence Styling Spray before straightening and blow drying. It makes a really big difference to your hair; reducing frizz and keeping it smooth and shiny.
#2. After spending at least thirty minutes turning my wavy hair straight, I flip my head upside down, brush and spray with
Boot's Firm Hold Hairspray. Any hairspray will do and I don't see a difference between top brand sprays and shop own make so I go for a cheap option that does the job. Flip your head up again and you can already see that your hair has that added oomph already. Sometimes I need to flatten my fringe and spray that in place as well.
#3. Rub a little
VO5 Soft Moulding Wax into your palms and fingertips, and begin clutching at the roots of your hair to bring it up and keep it there. As VO5 specialise in waxes and gels, this particular hair wax is one you can trust. Spray your hair again to keep the volume.
Make Up;I do all my make up in a particular order, as I'm quite messy with my mascara etc. You don't have to follow the instructions in this order if preferred.
#1. I start with the eyes, and because I always end up with mascara all over my eyelids, I begin with that.
Maybelline New York Colossal Volum' is probably the best mascara I've ever bought; with enough coats, you can look like you're wearing false lashes.
#2. A thin line of liquid eyeliner along your upper lash line will add emphasis, and my favourite is
Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Liquid Liner. The product isn't too thick and the brush is smooth (some are brissly and itch when applying). If you want to add a flick, then you can.
#3. I cannot live without pencil eyeliner, and the one I use is
Rimmel London Eye Liner Pencil in Soft Kohl. It never ever smudges and is so prominent that you only need to use a few coats. Also, it's not dry and flakey and lasts a hell of a long time. I put this along my bottom lashes.
#4. Eyeshadow. I don't bother to buy branded eyeshadows as I use too many colours and they're too expensive, so I just pick a colour that matches my outfit from my cheap eyeshadow palette, and apply all over my eyelid, smudging it up to just under my eyebrows.
#5. Before making my face look flawless, I find that a decent moisturiser stops foundation and concealer going dry, so I apply
Olay Beauty Fluid all over my face. This may sound like a Granny moisturiser, and maybe it is, but it just works so well and feels really refreshing when put on that it doesn't matter. Apparently, a bottle is sold every three seconds. Can't be that bad.
#6. After the moisturiser has 'soaked in', I find it best to apply the concealer before the foundation. The one I use is
17 Hide Away Concealer Cream which comes in a lipgloss tube with a wand for easier application and precision. I dab this in my problem areas where my skin is slightly pink instead of beige, those areas being my chin, under eyes, upper cheeks and nose. Once rubbed in, it blends in to your natural skin tone really well.
#7. My favourite ever product is my foundation:
Maybelline New York Dream Matte Mousse. It's a cream instead of a powder, so is applied easier. This covers up everything- spots, blemishes, uneven skin, freckles...
#8. I don't pay much attention to my lips, but when I do it's just some cheapy lipgloss. At the moment I use
ColourWorks Lipgloss in Peach.
